Simone Biles pulled out of the team competition after competing on the vault this morning and the world started to speculate if she was injured. We all sat and watched as she left the floor with her backpack and her trainer by her side.
Was she injured? Did something happen? We all knew that after the prelims she took to Instagram and talked about what she was feeling.
“prelims ☑️ now to prepare for finals.” Simone wrote.
“it wasn’t an easy day or my best but I got through it. I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times. I know I brush it off and make it seem like pressure doesn’t affect me but damn sometimes it’s hard hahaha! The olympics is no joke! BUT I’m happy my family was able to be with me virtually🤍 they mean the world to me!”
It was about fifteen minutes after she pulled out that it was confirmed by a coach that she wasn’t injured, but rather she pulled out for mental reasons, and to be honest, we’ve never been so proud of her.
Simone is human and we can’t even begin to imagine what she is going through. We need to remember that yes, she is the greatest of all time, but she is human and the pressure that she is feeling is a lot.
And if it is a mental or physical health issue, we just want Simone to know that she is amazing.
After that was put out, USA Gymnastics then said that it was a medical issue and she will be assessed daily.
There is a lot of mixed messages, but what matters is Simone. That’s all that matters. And no matter what, we have her back.
The world took to social media to express their love and support for Simone.
These are the types of tweets that we are seeing in support for Simone. And we’re glad that the world is supporting her.
And then there is Simone, who came back out to the floor to support her team mates and show them all the love as they compete.
We are so proud of you Simone, and no matter what happens, please know that we are always going to support you.
