He’s All That is right around the corner and my mood for it has changed. I’ve gone from hesitation – because I love the original so much. But this trailer for He’s All That has me so excited for the remake. He’s All That is going to bring us back to movies of the past and hey – those were good.
Also released today was the key art, which pays homage to the original.
The film stars Tik Tok Star Addison Rae, Cobra Kai’s Tanner Buchanan and original star Rachael Leigh Cook, who is taking on a new role in this movie.
Addison plays Padgett Sawyer, inspired by Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Zackary Siler role from the original. The contemporary story follows an influencer (Rae) who accepts a challenge to turn the school’s biggest loser (Buchanan) into prom king. Well that’s the short version of the synopsis.
Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan will be playing gender swapped versions of Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook’s from She’s All That.
Also behind the movie are the original producers, Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay.
In addition to Rae and Buchanan, also starring in He’s All That are Madison Pettis, Peyton Meyer, Isabella Crovetti, Annie Jacob, Myra Molloy, and She’s All That original star Matthew Lillard will also be in the film.
“In this reimagining of 1999’s She’s All That, Padgett (Tik Tok star Addison Rae) has mastered her perfect high school life: She’s a popular beauty influencer with a huge following, and her hot pop star boyfriend makes her the envy of everyone on her feed. But after she catches him cheating while livestreaming, she goes viral for all the wrong reasons. To repair her reputation, Padgett makes a risky bet that she can turn her scruffy antisocial classmate Cameron (Cobra Kai’s Tanner Buchanan) into prom king material. Things get complicated when she finds herself falling for him IRL—and learning no one is quite who they seem on social media, least of all herself.” is the full synopsis.
He’s All That will stream on Netflix starting August 27th, 2021.
