Animation shows are definitely our cup of tea! On September 17 you can enjoy Chicago Party Aunt on Netflix and we were able to sit down with Matt Craig, its showrunner to talk about the process of creating an animated show, his plans for it and what we can expect from season 1. Ready?
Here we go!
As you can see, we wanted to know how the idea of Chicago Party Aunt came about and what the creation process was like for Matt Craig. Also, we take the opportunity to get inside his mind, does Matt Craig have this show planned to have a long run? It’s not usual to know the plans of a showrunner so let’s say we wanted to take the opportunity (wink, wink.)
Chicago Party Aunt season 1 has 16 episodes divided into two parts so, as in Lucifer season 5, we will see a season 1A and a season 1B. With that being the case, a question couldn’t be missing for Matt Craig to have the opportunity to explain what to expect from part A versus part B and to tell us what he was most looking forward to for all of you to see.
The last question was a complicated one, we wanted to have a little fun with Matt Craig so we tried to get his favorite character and yeah, we completely agree with his answer…it’s impossible to choose!
Matt Craig is absolutely charming, funny, and so kind. He just makes his laugh rub off and you just can’t stop laughing out loud when you have the pleasure of chatting with him. This is one of the interviews in which I had the most fun and in which the artist was more open, more enthusiastic, more passionate.
That’s the word. Matt has a true passion for what he does and it shows in every word that Chicago Party Aunt is a show created with care, so that we can all enjoy it…and you will.
We can’t wait for you to do it!
