We’re back! Chicago Party Aunt 1×02 “Helicopter Aunt” shows us that independence is not always easy … or pretty. For no one. But it’s necessary to be able to learn and start flying. Time for review!
Here we go!
When our son leave home… it’s never easy. Bonnie is struggling with Daniel’s absence in Chicago Party Aunt 1×02 “Helicopter Aunt” and she doesn’t want to throw anything away. I mean, she wants to keep up to his elementary books, for God’s sake. And she feels misunderstood … she doesn’t feel that her husband is being affected as much as she is by the absence of their son.
It’s normal for Bonnie to feel like this, hers is her little one and now he’s growing up and he doesn’t need her anymore. But he does. He will always need her, but he needs to fly alone, make his own mistakes, live, grow… learn.
Daniel needs independence and to figure out his path, but on his own. Right now he doesn’t need his mother to harass him or his aunt to get him a dubious job that is clearly not for him. And much less does he need them to not stop fighting to see who is doing worse with him.
Daniel needs to have the support of both and make his own decisions, follow his own instincts. He’s going to be wrong, of course, but it’s part of life, it’s part of maturity. Life will give him many blows but is how it should be. His mother cannot protect him from everything and no one knows better what he wants to do or what is best for him than he does.
Life is learning and he only learns by living it.
It’s time for Daniel to fly out of the nest and start taking his own steps into adult life, even if that means Diane and Bonnie have to step back. He will always have them, and he knows it. And that’s enough.
Bonnie and Diane are proud of Daniel in Chicago Party Aunt 1×02 “Helicopter Aunt.” He’s growing and that brings a part of sadness … but also pride and joy. Their baby is out there, eating the world. Bonnie knows that Diane will take care of him with her life and Daniel is Bonnie’s little baby, she will do anything for him.
Now, is Daniel’s turn to shine.
We absolutely love the way Diane is like a protective lioness with her family. Her job was on the line, in fact, Gideon has given her a choice in Chicago Party Aunt 1×02 “Helicopter Aunt” but there is no choice for her. She will always choose her family. So when Daniel needs her, she doesn’t hesitate to leave everything, no matter how important, and go with him. She always will. The first thing is her family. That’s why we love her. And, by the way, she makes some things clear. Because the new methods may be good, but her own method works and is great.
Gideon can accept it or not but she is not going to change because the truth is that she doesn’t need it. A business book or video can never replace the trust built in day-to-day life or the way she knows customers after years.
