In many ways Leah Harvey’s Salvor Hardin is the hero of this story – or at least, one of the biggest ones. That already makes Foundation different than what it was, and different than what we expected it to be. Salvor Hardin was, after all, a man in Asimov’s books. The show does a lot different from the books, but in this, in particular, you can feel how much this adaptation is trying to forge it’s own path.
Gaal Dornick, the other big player in this story – was also a man in the books, and is now a woman, played by Lou Llobell.
But we’re not here to talk about anyone’s story but Salvor’s. We’re here to celebrate no one but Leah, and what she brings to this role, to this story that is about more than people, but in a very big way, it is about people like Salvor, who can make a difference.
You can check out our interview with Leah Harvey below, and trust us …if you do, you’ll want to watch the show. And you’ll be right.
The first two episodes of Apple TV+’s Foundation will be available to stream this Friday.
