This clip leaves us biting our nails – and we thought we couldn’t be more anxious, we were innocent, very innocent -. Honor and Tane are afraid of Charles, they’re terrified of him and they only count on Rebecca to protect them. It seems that, after the end of the previous episode, Charles decided to let the darkness in, hug it… and that’s not going well because his worst nightmares are coming true: he’s about hurt his kids.
Rebecca is also scared because she knows that she must protect Honor and Tane with her life…even if it means hurt Charles, a man for whom she feels something very big and very strong that she has not yet dared to name. But the priority is the kids. Charles, her Charles, the Charles she fell in love with would agree.
That final moment in which we see him prepare a rope… it has made my hair stand on end. Did Charles regain control and prefer suicide before hurting those he loves?
The only thing that reassures me about this clip is the moment when Honor really thought that she and Tane were alone because Rebecca was gone and she’s right there and responds “not without you.” A mother never abandons her children…
Now it only takes the Boone family curse to end here and now for Charles, Rebecca, Tane and Honor – yes, Loa’s absence still hurts – to be happy.
