We’re back! After a small hiatus, Chapelwaite 1×03 “Legacy Of Madness” returns to continue giving us chills with all the secrets that the Boone family is and its past holds. This episode is transitional but it serves to place us much more in the story and open new plots. Time for review!
Here we go!
At the beginning of Chapelwaite 1×03 “Legacy Of Madness” tempers are very heated. The whole town believes that Charles and the Boone family had a role in the death of that girl and both Rebecca and some people in town, ask Charles that he and the children keep a low profile.
We understand Charles, that is, it is unfair that he and the children have to hide as if they had done something wrong when they have done nothing. What’s more, hiding can only give wings to those who believe bad things about them because it seems they have something to hide.

But I also understand Rebecca’s position on this. I mean, the entire town is full of superstition and they really believe that the Boone family is guilty … who knows what they are capable of – we see what they can do later in the episode. Carrying a low profile for now seems like the most sensible thing to do.
The two positions are understandable and in a perfect world Charles would be totally right but in this situation… it is not clear which is the correct decision. Perhaps there are none and the important thing is the children. Charles or Rebecca are grown-ups and can handle everything … but the kids shouldn’t be putting up with all this, maybe if Charles doesn’t want to keep a low profile for him, he should do it for the kids.
He thinks they can handle it too … but they can’t. They are strong but they are human and what is happening affects them, it is inevitable that it will and, to tell the truth, he doesn’t stay too long to realize it …he needs to protect them wherever it takes.
This situation is not fair for Charles or the children and we are outraged that they are in this situation because of something as silly as superstition. It’s horrible that they have to lower their heads when they haven’t done anything. Our stomach churns at the thought and our first instinct is to fight it. The only thing that consoles us is that Charles and Rebecca are getting closer and closer without them realizing it… although we fear that the secrets will end up being a stone in their shoes… what do you think?
Chapelwaite 1×03 “Legacy Of Madness” continues to add mystery to Stephen’s death. The tomb was empty so that means… is he alive? We, like Charles, believe so. But what is clear is that no one is telling everything they know about this because Rebecca assures Charles that she did see a corpse but she did not want to speak any more or tell him where he is buried.
If it’s true that this monster is dead, why doesn’t anyone want to talk about it? Why is Rebecca hiding what she knows from Charles? It is very strange … in fact, if that monster were alive, everyone who knew him, who knows what he did, should be scared, terrified that he could be haunting the town … but no one is.
They know something they want to hide, but what?
Then, there are the rats. Charles listens to them although they are not supposed to be there. And that last image … “blood calls blood,” is what Stephen told Charles before trying to kill him. What does it mean? How did that phrase get there? It is written in red ink and we have the impression that it’s writing with blood …

The mystery surrounding Chapelwaite and the Boone family makes our hair stand on end and we don’t mind confessing it. Right now, we don’t have a clear theory of what the hell is going on and that’s the coolest thing because it means that the show is capable of surprising us and keeping us on the edge. With our hearts racing.
At the end of Chapelwaite 1×03 “Legacy Of Madness” Honor finally dares to kiss Able but his reaction … is not exactly enthusiastic. We think he is shocked and doesn’t know how to act. He liked the kiss, he loved it, he likes her, but he had never met a girl who didn’t care about the conventions and puritanism of the time, no one so brave and bold and wonderful like Honor. So he feels … little thing for someone like her and he doesn’t know how to act in that situation.
In addition, we believe that Able also thinks that this relationship will not be … well seen. The times and those people are disgustingly racist, as we have already seen, so a relationship between a Black man and a Boone will bring with it a lot of problems. Able wants nothing more than to kiss Honor back but he… he doesn’t know if he dares to do it.
We hope he will because we love them together!
