There are so many feelings that come into play when a band that you love says that they are taking a break. It’s this weird thing, where you’re both happy for them, because everyone deserves happy, and this overwhelming anxiety.
We’ve seen this movie before and it hasn’t ended the way that we’ve wanted. Sure, it’s been a time of growth. It’s been a time where we’ve all allowed ourselves to allow other bands, genres of music, fandom…
I think we all know that breaks happen. People need moments. People need to be able to figure out what they want and need. Life is always changing and in any job, people want to grow.
Even in music.
Little Mix has announced that they will be taking a break and I have to admit that I cried over it. I know that I am grown, but I love my girls.
I know that they have other things that they want to pursue. Two of them just became Moms. They are all so talented in their own right. They said it’s just a break and because of the closeness of their sisterhood, I am inclined to believe it.
But it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt.
Cause it does.
“We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix,” the girls wrote on their Instagram.
“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects. We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much,” the continued.
“We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay 💫 We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more. We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever ♥️ See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x” the finished off the post.
It’s no surprise to anyone that the internet has a lot of feelings about this break.
THE TRYING TO REMAIN STRONG
THE FEAR
THE UNDERSTANDING IT’S WELL DESERVED
THE THANKFULNESS FOR ALL THEY’VE DONE
THE PRIDE AND THE MOVING FORWARD
THE VULNERABLE FEELINGS
DON’T COMPARE THEM TO ONE DIRECTION, PLEASE
THE WAY LITTLE MIX HAS SHAPED US
SISTERS FOR LIFE
THE REMINDER THAT THEY DESERVE A BREAK
THE FEAR AGAIN
IT’S NOT A GOODBYE
IT JUST HITS DIFFERENT
LIFE FEELS EMPTY
THE DESERVE A BREAK & WE’LL GET MORE
THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS THE STRONGEST
THEY DESERVE THIS SO MUCH
I have to admit that there is a part of me that is filled with doubt and fear. I don’t mean to sound like an asshole.
I feel like I can believe in Perrie, Leigh-Anne, and Jade. No matter what, we’ll be supporting them.
Mixers for life.
