Please Disney, make our dreams come true. Bring back Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. He’s in and so are we.
On the heels of numerous rumors that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk on Hawkeye, and Charlie Cox will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Matt Murdock, someone was of course going to ask Bernthal about the possibility of returning to play The Punisher himself, Frank Castle. And his answer doesn’t just leave the door open, it makes us want to beg Disney to get it done. Now.
In an interview with THR, Bernthal answered the question with a clear: “It’s not about whether you do the character; it’s about whether you can do it right, and I’m only interested in doing it right.”
Coincidentally, so are we. Do it right, Disney, and bring Frank to us again.
Bernthal went on to speak about Frank Castle in a way that makes the appreciation he has for the role that made him a household name. “That character, in particular, has real, real, real deep, deep meaning for me and resonance in me,” he shared. “He’s really in my heart, man. He’s really in my bones. I’m enormously protective of that character.”
What are we waiting for?
