We’re here again! Alex Rider 2×04 “Serpent” shows Alex’s struggle to follow what he feels is his path and the consequences of doing so while we discover something more about Damien and his plan. Time for a review!
Here we go!
After the previous episode, in Alex Rider 2×04 “Serpent,” Jack continues to show her disagreement with Alex getting involved in espionage again because she sees that he’s neglecting his real life, Alex is risking everything for someone he has just met and for something that has nothing to do with him.
But for Alex, this does have to do with him and is part of his real life. He just can’t help but forget about all the unknowns of his past. It’s dangerous, yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s not real. Alex feels that living like a boy his age, would be pretending and that would be unreal. Alex needs to find out his origins and discover all the secrets of his past. Alex needs to explore his destiny and the world he feels he belongs to.
Sabina and Alex’s relationship reaches a turning point in Alex Rider 2×04 “Serpent.” Alex decides to tell her the whole truth about his investigation and the murder of his father, Alex confesses that he was there but that he couldn’t do anything. For Sabina, it is…too much. His father just died and she can’t wrap her head around the fact that he got involved with someone so dangerous and in such a dark scheme.
Much less, she can understand that Alex is involved in all that and he couldn’t…did nothing to protect his father. Of course, Alex couldn’t do anything but at this moment Sabina can’t even think, she only knows that Alex was there, in the last moments of her father’s…and that he was investigating him without saying anything to her.
It’s too much to take in and right now Sabina can’t even look at Alex… so she decides to get away from him. She doesn’t want to see him again. She needs to lick her wounds alone and have someone by her side that she can trust and right now Sabina doesn’t trust Alex. She can’t do it. Sabina needs time to assimilate everything and search for the truth for herself.
Aside from Jack, in Alex Rider 2×04 “Serpent,” Alex must also struggle with Tom. Tom wants his friend to remain his friend…and nothing more. But the point is, his friend is something else and Tom can’t pretend that he isn’t. That is why Tom ends up helping Alex because he realizes that Alex is trying to find out what his path is.
After fighting so much, Alex gets to meet Damian in Alex Rider 2×04 “Serpent” by infiltrating his presentation party. Finally, we find out what the video game Damian created is about: augmented virtual reality…in a very sinister way. That game is a weapon. And Damien didn’t like it at all that Alex beat him at his own game – and I’m super proud of Alex for doing it.
We knew that what Damien had planned was going to be bad but we didn’t expect this. Although we don’t fully understand what he intends to do with it. The game is a weapon, but what is its objective? We still have many secrets to discover about Damien.
Kyra is K7! She always shows up when we need her most and we love to see her again but we didn’t expect her to give us this surprise. Why is she into all this? Did she find out what Alex was trying to do and she wants to help him or did MI6 recruit her? We can’t wait to find out!
Another mystery that we can’t wait to solve in Alex Rider 2×04 “Serpent” is about Gregorovich and Alex. Again, he has saved Alex from danger by denying knowing him in front of Damien. Gregorovich continues to protect Alex, even against his interests. And our question remains the same: why?
