Chicago P.D. 9×10 “Home Safe” once again turns the spotlight back on Kim Burgess, and hopefully on the trauma the first half of the season pretty much brushed off to focus on another Voight redemption storyline that was about as successful as every other. And though the pictures don’t give us much of the two of them together, this episode also focuses on the relationship between Kim and the main man in her life — Adam Ruzek.
We’ve spent a long time in this in-between space with these two character, and the most frustrating part is, of course, how at this point we aren’t even sure if we’re close to the two of them + Makayla becoming a family. It feels like more pain might be in the cards for us, but we don’t want more pain, for us or them.
Here’s to everyone truly being home safe at the end of this episode. And yes, that includes are newlyweds, who we really hope we get to see some domestic goodness from.

The team searches for a missing child in what turns out to be a very complicated case. Burgess and Ruzek are in for a shock when someone from Makayla’s past comes forward.

Unfortunately, based on interviews from the show runner and cast members it looks like this odd dynamic between Kim and Adam is going to remain for a while.
