Julie Plec is a busy woman. Like it’s insane what she finds the time to do. We’re actually jealous of her creativity, her heart, and her vision.
Her latest straight to series order, The Girls on the Bus has had a long journey finding its way. Over two years ago it was set up at Netflix, then switched to The CW, and now has a straight to series order at HBO Max.
Journalist Amy Chozick spent over a decade chronicling Hilary Clinton. She followed her two unsuccessful Presidential campaigns. And no – before you start going ape shit about a series about Clinton, it’s not about that at all.
The series is actually inspired by a chapter in the book. “The Girls on the Bus” chapter in Chozick’s book Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns and One Intact Glass Ceiling, to be exact.
It basically follows female journalists on the campaign trail. This is something that we totally can get behind.
And to make matters even more exciting, Melissa Benoist is in talks to headline the series. She would also produce. We’d love to see her back on our screens and this show sounds interesting.
