A lot went on during the conclusion of the two-part winter storm episode of Good Sam.
One of the biggest mysteries was whether or not Sam’s mother was okay despite being involved in a multiple car pile-up. Because although Vivan welcomed a life at the beginning of the episode, her own life would soon hang in the balance.
While this specific storyline was a nail-biter, I’d say the episode was primarily filled with a lot of random twists. For example, Lex up and changed her whole career and Tim ended up being the guy we didn’t except.
It was a rollercoaster of emotions, to say the least. So let’s discuss what exactly happened in Good Sam 1×10 “I Thought I Lost You.”
Twists
Listen, we don’t know much about having a partner cheat on you during a relationship but we can imagine it’s a tough pill to swallow especially if you are about to get married. We got to say, we were a bit surprised that the reason Tim was holding back was that he slept with someone and felt guilty. We would’ve guessed it was pre-wedding jitters.
Seeing how excited Joey was to elope with Tim made us feel even worse for him once he found out about Tim’s past discretions. Hard to believe Joey will get over any time soon and we really can’t blame him.
It’s honestly such a shame because we really enjoyed their relationship. In Good Sam 1×10 “I Thought I Lost You“ you could see how much Joey loved Tim and that despite some of his shortcomings, he would move the world for him. But even though Tim fell short in his actions, it doesn’t give Joey the right to be a vindictive doctor that badmouths other doctors to patients just to get surgery.
The fact that Joey does this actually infuriates me. Isan is a good doctor and for Joey to do what he did kind of proves that he’s nowhere near ready to be the first assistant on surgeries. And if he doesn’t take Tim back, I’m afraid he’ll really have no one by his side anymore.
In other news, in Good Sam 1×10 “I Thought I Lost You“ it looks like Lex is being drawn into trauma. Does this have anything to do with the new, extremely handsome E.R. doctor we were just introduced to? I’m not sure since Lex and Griff seem to be going strong, but it is a mighty coincidence.
Seems kind of wild that Lex would change her specialty that was years in the making after a few days hanging out in the emergency room. Makes me think that there will be some kind of drama that unfolds as a result of Lex changing her specialty. After all, a lot of her time is now going to be spent helping patients with this hunky doctor.
Hanging by a Moment
The second we saw that Vivan was a victim of this car crash in Good Sam 1×10 “I Thought I Lost You,” we had a feeling it wouldn’t end well. And when she was seemingly fine once Sam got to her and even delivered a baby, we definitely knew there was more than met the eyes.
It turns out that while they thought she had just a mild concussion, she actually had a more serious spinal injury that required immediate surgery. During this touch-and-go moment, we learned that the whole reason Vivian had an admin role instead of practicing medicine was because of Sam. After the accident, Vivian thought it would be best to take a nine-to-five job in order to be with Sam.
It’s one of those decisions mothers make because ultimately your child comes before yourself. So despite Sam initially being mad that her mother kept her father’s secret from her all this time, she also understands the sacrifice she has made and forgives her. And honestly, if she didn’t forgive her and Vivian didn’t make it through, I don’t think Sam would forgive herself.
So it is a good thing Vivian survived. Though she has an uphill battle from here on out as it looks like Malcolm’s mother finally figured out what they’ve been hiding all this time. Who knows what kind of problems this will create for the hospital but I bet it’ll be a lot.
Other thoughts In Good Sam 1×10 “I Thought I Lost You”
- I actually don’t think Sam has feelings for Malcolm anymore despite that warm embrace. I think she also doesn’t have a whole lot of feelings for Caleb either because, as she said, she wants to keep things casual. She doesn’t have the brain space to engage in a relationship.
- Sam and Griff exchanging “I love yous” got me choked up, not going to lie.
- I think Lex is going to regret switching her specialties.
- Sam had every right to be pissed at her parents about the DUI but I’m glad that the events of this episode also showed her the importance of not holding a grudge.
- How dumb was it that they ruined this Kevin story with an affair between his parents?
- If Joey’s passion is plastics then why is he doing his residency with a bunch of heart doctors?
- Despite what Caleb says, there is no way this guy can keep things casual.
