We all have choices in life. Some we’ll end up regretting, some will be fine and we’ll even forget that we made a choice. Because that’s the thing about choices, there will always be more choices to make.
Jamie Dornan made a choice. He made a choice to star in Fifty Shades of Grey and though a lot of things have been said about him taking on the role, it’s a choice in his life that he does not regret.
“Are there jobs that I did that I wish maybe I hadn’t done? Maybe, yeah, but probably not the one people are thinking. There’s going to be defining moments, and there’s going to be not regretful moments—It’s just the tapestry of it all, isn’t it?” he said when talking to Esquire.
He has a point. He had previously stated back in 2021 (in regards to Fifty Shades of Grey) that, “The thing is every move I have made in my career, post those films, I have only been able to do because of those films,” he said. “Because all of the stuff, like Belfast, Beyond Private or any like well-received more independent stuff I’ve done the last five or six years, they’re only budgeting, they’re only paying for those films to be made off my name because I’m in a franchise that made $1.4 billion. That’s how that works. It’s all part of it, it’s given me so much, so of course, I don’t regret it.”
Regrets are something that we’re all going to have in life, we feel. But we’re glad that Jamie is not regretting taking on the role of Christian Grey.
