Top Gun: Maverick is in theaters this weekend and if you’re like us, you’re excited to see it. The stars of the movie have been making the rounds doing press and it’s definitely made us more excited.
And also thankful that we didn’t have to train for the movie, because the stars actually had to do flight training to star in the film. Over four months of flight training.
Star Tom Cruise is well known for doing his own stunts and to make the aviation scenes more believable, the actor had the stars of the movie go through training. Well, most of them. Jon Hamm didn’t have to do flight training and he wasn’t upset about it at all.
“They had to do 4 1/2 months of preparation and training for that, some 60 hours of being in a cockpit; and being in a cockpit is not comfortable in the best-case scenario,” he shared with talk show host Seth Meyers while promoting the film.
“It’s really not comfortable when you’re covered in your own vomit and going around and around and pulling all the G’s and all the blood’s leaving your head. So, I was very happy to leave my shoes on the ground.” he added.
We’re with you Jon Hamm. We wouldn’t have wanted to do it either.
