Britney Spears has been the Internet’s darling since…well, perhaps not the invention of the Internet, but surely for as long as fandom embraced the medium. And, honestly, when one pays even passing attention to her life story, it’s not hard to see why. Which is why the outpouring of love and support she’s received following the announcement of her wedding to actor Sam Asghari (who now might as well change his name to “Mr. Britney Spears” at this point) comes as no surprise.
Spears and Asghari married in a small ceremony at Spears’s home on Thursday. Of course, since the world cannot, in fact, leave Britney alone to leave her life in well-deserved peace, the event wasn’t without its own share of drama. Reportedly, Spears’s not-deserving-of-being-named ex-husband was arrested trying to crash the ceremony. True to form, the Internet responded to with the exact level of attention the incident deserved:
But that blip of irrelevancy wasn’t enough to put a damper on Britney’s day. Neither was the panic attack she admitted to experiencing just before the ceremony. The day may not have gone off without a hitch, precisely, but it’s clear in images that it was magical, nonetheless. Heck, from the images, it was straight out of a fairytale. And frankly, after having spent so many years under a conservatorship in which she was legally bound from getting married or having children, Spears deserved nothing less.
