People make an impression in your life, if you just listen and see the world around you. We totally get that isn’t easy and that a lot of the time, we all have to learn the hard way.
We have to experience everything that everyone tells us and teach us. We’ve learned through the years that who we are around and the people that we allow in our circles.
It’s the people that teach us how things and how things should be that change our expectations. Sometimes that is a good thing, sometimes it is a bad thing. For Selena Gomez, working on Only Murders in the Building, with Steve Martin and Martin Short, that changed her expectations on how men (or anyone really) should be.
“Being around two adult gentlemen—because that’s what they are, they are very sweet and kind and hilarious and inappropriate sometimes and it’s the best—I just learned so much,” she told The Hollywood Reporter Awards Chatter Podcast. “And my expectation for a man, to be honest, or any human, is to be as decent as these two human beings are.”
We love that they’ve made an impression on her. She continued by saying, “They have been doing this longer than I’ve been alive, and they are the kindest people.”
We love that sentiment. We love that they’ve remained kind human beings. It only makes us more excited to see them all and support them with season 2 of Only Murders in the Building.
