I have a Bravo obsession. I am not going to deny it, because as we’ve always established, we don’t lie to each other and I will always call it like I see it. Bravo is one of the best channels to make you forget the world around you and see that other peoples lives are just as crazy as yours.
Now there are a lot of televisions shows on Bravo that feel staged. Not that I am complaining at all, still love them and will still watch them. But there are also a lot of reality shows on there that are way past their prime (looking at you RHOC and RHONY) and problematic. They don’t appeal to the ever changing landscape of television and the world.
But it feels like Bravo is trying to change the way that things have been and create a new landscape. Shows like Summer House, Southern Charm, Real Housewives of Dubai... the network has seen that there is a need for a new set of stars and drama.

While I’ve only had access to the first two episodes of Real Girlfriends in Paris, I will say this, that Bravo has done something it rarely does with its reality television slate – it’s made it feel real.
While it has been touted as a “real life” Emily in Paris, it is definitely nothing like that. Except you know that one of the stars is named Emily. Anya Firestone, Emily Gorelik, Kacey Margo, Margaux Lignel, Adja Toure, and Victoria Zito are real life twenty-somethings living it up in Paris. They’re experiencing the ups and downs of life, love, and everything in between.
The six women are as different as can be, but that’s part of what makes it interesting. Part of the reason that you should watch the show. My favorites being Kacey Margo and Adja Toure, who keep it 100% real all the time – but that’s just a side note.
Why should you watch?

PARIS
There are so many beautiful places in the world, but there is no place in the world like Paris. Sure, we all know the tourist trap parts and who doesn’t love the Eiffel Tower? But the girls of Real Girlfriends in Paris will show you Paris – the real Paris. They’ll show you the Paris that you don’t always see and what it’s like to live there.
ANYA FIRESTONE
There are no words that I can stream together to describe Anya. Every show has that over the top, somewhat annoying, and person that is a lot. That sounds like a bad thing, but for Anya it’s not. She’s a wealth of information about Paris, but she is a lot. She takes living in Paris and status very seriously, which to a point is great, but also watching her reminds you that status isn’t everything.
I have to admit that part of what I love about Real Girlfriends in Paris is trying to figure her out.

KACEY MARGO AND ADJA TOURE
Kacey Margo and Adja Toure are my new favorite reality television stars. These two keep it real and feel the most relatable on this show. They seem to be the type that won’t let obstacles get in their way. They will do whatever it takes. They won’t back down.
But more important than anything, they are living their lives carefree and on their own terms. They set the definition of who they are and live life on their own terms. They aren’t afraid – and even if they are – they don’t show it.
These two make you feel like your dreams are with in reach and with hard work you can get there.
DUSTY COBWEBS
The girls of Real Girlfriends in Paris are blunt. They talk about things that a lot of people don’t. The filter is almost non-existent with these women, which makes it all the more fun. You feel like these are your girlfriends. You feel as though you are part of a conversation. You feel as though these are your friends.

YOU CAN DO ANYTHING
I am fully aware of all of the things that go into making a television show or movie, so I don’t believe in “reality” television per say. But when it comes to this show, it feels realer than most. And these girls, they feel uncensored, real, and exciting. They’re not perfect. They are not all rich and famous. They are real and that makes them more relatable.
If we’re being honest, Real Girlfriends in Paris isn’t some outstanding show – but it is good. It sets out to take you away from the realities of life and transports you to Paris.
And hey, that’s good enough for us.
Real Girlfriends in Paris premieres tonight on Bravo.
This show has literally taken Bravo to a new low. Sooooooooo stinkin fake and staged. Very disappointed in Bravo for taking this on. Come on Andy!!! I love you but for “Real”. Get back to the basics.
