Kerry Washington is using her star power to create content that challenges our perceptions of what women can and can’t do in the Hulu original series Reasonable Doubt. And with the official trailer just debuting, we can already see that this series will see its breakout star Emayatzy Corinealdi doing just that as high-powered criminal defense attorney Jacqueline “Jax” Stewart.
As the Onyx Collective’s first scripted series since they launched, Reasonable Doubt sees this Los Angeles lawyer as she fiercely conquers the justice system “through wild interpretations of the law and sometimes questionable ethics.” That’s not all. She’s also dealing with a failing marriage, the pitfalls of motherhood, and just juggling all of that in 2022.
This Hulu series also stars Michael Ealy, Sean Patrick Thomas, McKinley Freeman, TJ Mixson, Aderinsola Olabode, Tim Jo, and Angela Grovey. Larry Wilmore and Pilar Savone are joining Washington as executive producers. And Raamla Mohamed, best known from Little Fires Everywhere and Scandal, is serving as creator, executive producer, and showrunner.
