New week, new review! Leverage: Redemption 2×08 “The Turkish Prisoner Job” focuses much more on Harry and his place in the team, questioning his position in it as he uses his old abilities to help an innocent man. Ready?
Here we go!
Being The Mastermind Isn’t Easy

In Leverage: Redemption 2×08 “The Turkish Prisoner Job” Harry faces for the first time being the leader of a con. And, as Sophie has seen lately, being the mastermind of the team is not easy. The responsibility is not only with the team but also with the client and the consequences if something goes wrong are disastrous.
So it’s about having a plan A, a B, and an M, just in case. Harry felt like a failure when both of his plans don’t work out and somehow Sophie catches the baton and helps him run the scam. But just because his plans didn’t turn out well doesn’t mean he’s a failure, it just means he has to learn. But most of all, it means that he can never give up.
Harry is not alone and if plan A and plan B go wrong, it’s not a bad thing to let himself be helped and come up with a different plan. It’s not a bad thing to see the case from another perspective and redo his plans based on that.
In Leverage: Redemption 2×08 “The Turkish Prisoner Job” Harry has found himself out of his comfort zone, there is no doubt about that. Harry can rationalize his shift towards helping less fortunate people, albeit in an unorthodox way. But running a con is a whole other story and he doesn’t feel ready. It’s like he doesn’t know where to start.
And being back inside a courthouse, on the legal side of things for a moment, made Harry even more confused. He doesn’t quite know how to reconcile that part of him with his criminal part. Being on the team, and doing what they do…he feels that he is right where he should be and wants to be, but he cannot deny that being a lawyer is also part of him. So he feels somewhat divided.
People change and Harry did. So the thing here is that he, even if he doesn’t realize it at first, doesn’t have to choose to be one thing or the other. He can combine his skills to feel much more like himself and bring a unique perspective to the team as a result.
At this moment, when Sophie tells him just that, Harry found his own place in the team. And we love it!
