It doesn’t matter what job you are starting, when you get a new one, you want the tea. All of it. you want to know who sucks, who’s mean, who you should avoid, who you should suck up to… you want it all. And hey, advice on how to navigate the politics of any situation is something of the utmost importance.
Well at least that’s our thought process.
It’s rare though, that the President of the company insist that you talk to someone about how your life is going to change. But for Dove Cameron, that’s exactly what happened. When she joined the Disney Channel, then network president Gary Marsh, said that she needed to talk to Selena Gomez about how her life is going to change.
While talking with Buzzfeed, Dove shared, “She was really kind. She had me over to her house. I had never even done anything, I wasn’t doing interviews or anything. We sat at her kitchen table for hours, I think she offered to make me toast.”
“She gave me some advice on what not to do, and definitely things to do. For a couple months following that I would text her in a panic being like, ‘I don’t know what to do, I’ve never done this before!’ And she’s like, ‘Be yourself, everybody wants you to be yourself. You’re gonna kill it.’ That was really important to me,” Dove added.
We love that Selena was there for her. We love that she could text her for advice. What a great show of support the two gave each other.
