Nicolas Cage in Renfield already looks like the gift that keeps on giving.
In the official trailer for the new movie, a young man named Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) barges in on a support group looking for assistance. As he starts explaining the toxic relationship he’s in, the group rallies around him and supports him in letting go of the past. Interspersed with that are scenes of this mysterious young man making friends, saving lives, and bringing his boss sustenance in the form of human bodies. So it’s easy to see that he’s a henchman of sorts.
At the tail end of the official trailer though…we get our first real look at who Renfield is in a toxic relationship with. And it’s none other than Dracula, played by the immensely talented Cage. Dressed to the nines, he is nonchalantly invited into the building where the support group is happening. He then proceeds to float in the air, freaking everyone out, and then showing his sharp teeth. And honestly, if it means more of Cage putting his own twist to a story, we’re down.
We’re always down.

But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency.
