The end of one of your favorite shows is always sad, but seeing the cast find new roles to play is a little comforting. Lucifer said goodbye to our screens not too long ago, and Tom Ellis‘s phone hasn’t stopped ringing ever since! Second Wife is his new project. Do you want to know more details?
Here we go!
According to Deadline, Tom Ellis has signed on for a starring role in a dark-tinged half-hour comedy titled Second Wife. The project itself sounds interesting, but the show is created and produced by his wife Meaghan Oppenheimer, who also serves as showrunner.
While they both have successful careers, this will be their first project together, which sounds pretty exciting. Second Wife is set to air on Hulu and, along with Meaghan Oppenheimer, Emma Roberts will serve as executive producer.
Unlike Ellis, Oppenheimer and Roberts are used to working together, as they already do on Tell Me Lies, recently renewed by Hulu for a season 2. While Second Wife is the first project he will share with his wife, it’s not the first time Tom Ellis has worked with Hulu. We will see him soon in Washington Black.
While not too many details are known about the show, we do know that Second Wife is a romantic dramedy about the ups and downs of a blended family. Fresh off a terrible breakup, Sasha (Roberts) flees her life in New York to start over in London, where she meets and quickly falls in love with a recently divorced father named Jacob (Ellis).
When they impulsively decide to get married, they will soon learn that there’s a lot they don’t know about each other – and they can’t outrun their pasts forever. Darkly comedic in tone, Second Wife is an exploration of intimacy, failure, and second chances.
Second Wife will be available soon on Hulu.
I can’t wait! This sounds awesome.
