Lilo & Stitch is not the most remembered or successful Disney movie, however, its popularity has grown over the years. As adults, we understood and connected much more with the movie because is one of Disney’s most mature films.
The popularity of Lilo & Stitch and the good results that Disney is obtaining with the remakes of its classics led the company to bet on a live-action that will be released soon on Disney+ as one of the company’s great hopes for their streaming channel.
While Stitch will be created by CG technology, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has already found its Lilo. Maia Kealoha will make her debut as an actress in one of Disney’s biggest releases for its streaming platform.
But who is Lilo? If you remember, the Hawaii-centric story tells of the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who was genetically engineered to be a force of destruction. With nosy social workers and pursuing aliens banging on the door, the two bond over a shared sense of family and win the day.
While production on Lilo & Stitch was scheduled to begin in February in Hawaii, due to the complicated visual effects required for the film, the production was pushed back with no return date. Therefore, the premiere of the film will have to wait a little longer.
Despite this, we are excited to enjoy this movie!
