We learned some good news on this week’s 9-1-1: Lone Star: Kendra isn’t a murderer. The bad news? Her deceased husband tried to kill her. And almost succeeded. Owen really just can’t catch a break. We also learned in “Tongues Out” that Paul is a really good detective. And that you shouldn’t mess with Tommy. We review.

Clearing Kendra’s Name
At the end of last week’s episode, everyone thought Kendra caused her husband’s death. She claims she’s innocent, and Owen believes her. We really wanted to believe her, too, but we just don’t know who to trust these days. Luckily, Owen decies to enlist Paul’s help, and he’s able to figure out what happened to Brett. Bascially Brett caused his own death with pesticides. They were able to figure this out from their dog, Brady, who also was poisoned. Paul also discovers that Brett poisoned Kendra’s “birthday gift”, but not before Kendra took a drink. But since he warned Owen and called 9-1-1, Kendra was able to survive.
We have some thoughts on this situation. First of all, Paul should become a detective because he’s amazing at solving crimes. We were completely impressed by his skills! And he had way more screen time than he usually gets by being a firefighter. Second of all, Owen telling Kendra everything that Gabriel said ended up working out in his favor, but it still wasn’t a great move. It just made Gabriel mad, and they’re going to be in-laws soon. Owen may want to work on their relationship. And, finally, we’re really glad Kendra was innocent. We really couldn’t handle discovering that Owen was dating another crazy woman. We’re glad that Owen and Kendra decided to just stay friends for now. Kendra needs to recover from her husband’s death and this whole ordeal, and then maybe, Owen and Kendra can start fresh. We kind of like them together now.

Church Gossip
It was only a matter of time before ladies in the church figured out that Tommy and Trevor were seeing each other. Ladies at church gossip more than any other group. At the beginning of “Tongues Out” Grace overhears the ladies talking and tells Tommy what she heard. Tommy has to have a talk with Trevor and he’s very upset especially after what happened at his last church and thinks they need to break up. Tommy’s upset too because she really liked Trevor, and she doesn’t think she can go to that church anymore. We get it; how awkward would it be to have to see him and listen to him preach every single Sunday?
But Tommy decides not to give up and takes a stand at church. We loved her speech to the congregation and that she called out the ladies who were talking about her. You go, Tommy! We love this side of her, and we love that she didn’t let Trevor or her church go. We also liked that kiss. Remind us never to get on Tommy’s bad side.
We know that Grace and Judd will be happy that Tommy and her girls will still go to church with them. We’re glad that Tommy doesn’t have to find a new church (or a new man). We also found it funny that Grace was trying to ask Tommy, without actually asking her, if she had slept with Trevor. We love the friendship between Tommy and Grace. We’ll never complain about having more scenes with these two.

Other Thoughts:
- It was hilarious when Nancy warned Mateo not to rotate her tires for her birthday. She’s right: that’s never an appropriate gift.
- Even though the church ladies were annoying, we couldn’t help but laugh when one of them said Reverend Parks was filing her with more than the holy spirit. Tommy thought it was funny, too.
- We love that everyone jumped in to help Owen when he needed to save Kendra’s life. They’re always there for each other, and that’s why we love everyone at the 126.
