The season finale of 9-1-1 was an intense hour of television. It was such an explosive and action packed finale that made us feel every single emotion. At the beginning of “Pay It Forward”, the 118 head off to rescue Jo and Mallory after they were in an accident on the bridge. This starts off like a usual rescue, however, after a truck slams into the bridge, every member of the 118 ends up in danger.

May Day! May Day!
This accident scene was unlike anything we’ve ever seen on this show. Sure, the writers have given us intense situations (like the tsunami), but nothing where every single member of the 118 could die. Hen had a consussion, Eddie had broken ribs, Bobby’s missing, and Chim? Well, he’s injured worse than anyone else as he was stabbed by a piece of the gourney and blood poured out of his side.
We really felt for Maddie. For a second, she thought maybe Buck and Chim were both hurt. And while she quickly learned Buck was okay, she held her breath as she waited for Chim to answer. Even after he answered, it wasn’t looking good. Not only did he lose a lot of blood, the ambulance kept shifting and we were so afraid he wasn’t going to make it.
We were also really concerned for Bobby. No one knew where he was for the longest time. Luckily, he was resourceful and started banging on the rubble until he was found. But he wasn’t out of danger and we kept thinking something awful was going to happen. We couldn’t fully relax until he was being loaded into the ambulance.
We’re shocked that everyone survived this horrible accident. Seriously, a bridge collapsed! And it’s been six seasons and everyone from the main cast is still here. Chicago Fire would have killed off at least two of the main characters off by now. That’s one of the reasons why we love this show. We’re so glad we’re not ending the season grieving one of our favorite characters.

The Aftermath
Not only are we not grieving one of our favorites, we’re excited about what’s to come next season. Maddie and Chimney are getting married, and Buck and Eddie may have actually found success in their love lives. It was so cute how excited Eddie got when Marisol asked him out. We don’t know how we feel about Marisol yet, but we liked how happy Eddie was at that moment.
We’re happy for Buck, too, because Natalia came back. These two get another chance, and we’re interested to see where this relationship goes. And, we can’t forget our two other couples: Hen and Karen and Bobby and Athena. Bobby and Athena finally get to take a vacation together, and boy do they deserve it. And Hen and Karen are going to foster a baby girl. We love all of this. We so appreciate the writers for giving us such a positive ending to season six.

Other Thoughts:
- Buck did amazing taking charge when Bobby was missing and Hen was trapped. We’re so proud of how far he’s come throughout this series.
- We cracked up over Christopher’s reaction to his dad talking to Marisol. “Why is he so bad at this?” Dating is hard. And stressful. Even for someone as attractive as Eddie.
- We can’t believe we just finished season six. We’ll miss these characters over the break, but we’ll see everyone next year.
9-1-1 will return next season on ABC.
