In case anyone was wondering, it is 2023 and we’re over people talking about bodies. You don’t know what a person’s body type is supposed to be, what they are or aren’t doing, and well if you’re wanting to talk about someone else’s body you just need to shut the hell up.
Lizzo spoke out (again & to make it clear, she shouldn’t have to at all) about comments made about her body. We’re standing up and applauding the superstar for speaking up and telling people to STFU.
Can’t imagine being a celebrity and having everyone think that because your face is out there, they have to right to comment on your body. After a Twitter user made a remark about Lizzo’s body, she took to the app and spoke up.
The post was way the fuck out of line.
“I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of shit I see about me on a daily basis,” Lizzo wrote.
“It’s really starting to make me hate the world. Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bullshit,” she continued.
TBH, Lizzo is a lot nicer than we ever would have been. It’s wearing on a persons soul when people are always commenting on their bodies.
That user wasn’t the only one that Lizzo responded to.
“Y’all really need to touch grass… I’m not trying to BE fat. I’m not trying to BE smaller… I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy,” the superstar wrote. “This is what my body looks like even when I’m eating super clean and working out! Yall speak on shit y’all know NOTHING ABOUT and I’m starting to get heated.
We all need to let her be and give her some grace and strength. We should not be tearing each other down. As women, we need to be building each other up.
Hello Ms. Lizzo. I love you. And your boldness. Please stop caring about what people say or think of you. I love the video “Special “. That truly needs to be everyone theme song. To me you totally explain yourself. On that video. And those people who haven’t watched it. Are still don’t understand you. So be it. You can’t explain yourself any better than that.
