ATX TV Festival opened its 2023 season! The first day started strong with Outlander and didn’t let up as Manifest and Justified: City Primeval presented the end and beginning of their shows, respectively. Time to go over it all! Ready?
Here we go!
OUTLANDER (STARZ)

ATX TV Festival started in style with the Outlander panel. While Sophie Skelton couldn’t attend due to scheduling problems (but she sent a very nice message to the fans) and Toni Graphia didn’t attend due to the writers’ strike, Caitriona Balfe and Maril Davis were in charge of celebrating World Outlander Day and women of the show in the first panel of the festival.
In addition to the presentation of two exclusive clips from Outlander season 7, we discover how both Caitriona and Maril manage to reconcile their work and family lives. In addition, we found out that Caitriona will direct an episode of season 8 while in season 7 she will do her first steps as second director.
The talk, how could it be otherwise, focused on the production work of both, as well as some secrets and accidents behind the scenes. For example, we discovered Caitriona and Maril’s favorite scenes from Outlander season 7 and that it’s the first season in which Caitriona didn’t read the book.
To top it off, Caitriona Balfe called for an end to sexist comments not only against her but against her co-star Sam Heughan who had to put up with being asked what was under his kilt in an interview. And we are with Caitriona on this, stop these types of comments, please, and thank you.
MANIFEST (NETFLIX)

Manifest was the next show to appear at the ATX TV Festival with a screening of the final episodes of the show, a photocall, and a Q&A with the cast and crew in which we discovered that while the love and friendship between Ben and Saanvi are increasingly deeper in the new episodes, Jared and Michaela will have an increasingly complicated relationship.
But the highlight is that for the cast of Manifest, Angelina is the catalyst for all the problems in the new season, why would she be? We will have answers very soon but the best thing is that Jeff is here to finish this story.
JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL (FOX)

The Justified: City Primeval cast met at ATX TV Festival to chat about the show and present the premiere. During the panel, the cast actively supported the writers’ strike (well-done guys!) while showing their interest in continuing to bring such intriguing characters to life in a possible season 2 of the show. We also discover some curiosities behind the scenes.
And if you are more curious about the show, we can tell you that is based on the novel “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.” The eight-part limited series picks up 15 years after U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) left the hollers of Kentucky in FX’s Justified.
Extending the Elmore Leonard universe and featuring an all-new cast of Detroit, where he crosses paths with violent sociopath Clement Mansell, aka “The Oklahoma Wildman” (Boyd Holbrook), and his formidable defense attorney (Aunjanue Ellis).
