We live by a rule – if it is something that is alive – you don’t give it as a gift. We’ve seen all of the videos and TikTok’s (obviously not all of the ones ever, but it feels like it) that want to see about people giving cats, dogs, etc as a gift. That’s a thing one does for themself or their kids.
It’s not something that we think that people should give and we’ll stand by that.
Now, we never thought that we’d hear of someone giving someone bees. Like there is a line and well, Samuel L. Jackson was like, let me cross it. When Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds got married, the actor gave them bees.
Yes, you read that shit right. Bees.
Now we know wedding gifts are hard. We know that. But this one, if we got it, we’d have words with that person.
“My wedding gift to them was a beehive. Scarlett was always talking about nature. So I had my assistant go out and buy 10 pounds of bees and then I bought them bee suits and the whole thing.”
He continued in his interview with Vulture, “They kept bees for a while. They got honey for a couple of years while they were married. And then one day the bees abandoned the hive or they abandoned the queen or some shit.”
Well, we woulda had those bees right on Jackson’s doorstep after he gave them to us, but we’re different. Would you have kept the bees?
