Yes, yes, we’re aware of what the title is going to make you think, but if we’re being honest, we understand completely why he said that it was “hell,” but we’re going to get to that. If you’re like us, you may have been like DAMN MATT DAMON, that’s mean.
We all know though, that a kiss can be messed up by someone having bad breathe. No one wants to taste grossness. And well, an onion sandwich (though we’re really wondering why anyone would eat an onion sandwich) is not something we’d want to taste while kissing.
Way back in 2011, the two starred together in We Bought a Zoo (if you haven’t seen the movie, you should). The two had a kissing scene, which we don’t remember, but hey, it was 2011. It feels like a century ago.
Matt was on LADbible, alongside Emily Blunt and he talked about the kiss between him and Scarlett Johansson. See, the did what they were supposed to do and thought that they had gotten the kiss.
“What happened was, we did a shot before lunch, and it was this nice little two-shot that ended in the kiss. And it was really good. And we went to lunch, and she and I both thought it was over. She ate like an onion sandwich for lunch,” he said.
Again, we’re going to wonder why anyone eats an onion sandwich, but here we are. Also never going to try one, so we’ll just smile about that.
When they returned from lunch, the two had to kiss again and Johansson was like, ‘Oh shit.’ She goes, ‘I literally just had, I had like an onion sandwich.”
Damon went on to joke that kissing Scarlett was “hell” and said, “I was making fun of her the entire time about her onion breath, which I didn’t even smell. Her breath smells like roses!”
We know that he was being a jokester, but hey… speechless. Also wondering who eats an onion sandwich. Can’t imagine.
