Parenthood is a scary thing. It’s actually quite terrifying, but from what we hear, it’s also the greatest joy that one can experience. These are the things that we are told and we’re just going to agree, because some of us have no experience in this.
That being said, where the prospect of raising a child may be terrifying, but quite honestly, this movie and the tech paved path to parenthood feels like somewhat of a nightmare.
A clip from Emilia Clarke’s new movie, The Pod Generation, has been released and just reading the synopsis, it sounds terrifying.

The movie centers on the, “very near future world where AI is all the rage and technology has trumped nature in nearly every aspect of life. The Pod Generation follows Rachel (Clarke) and Alvy (Ejiofor), a New York couple who are ready to start a family. As a rising tech company executive, Rachel lands a coveted spot at the Womb Center, which offers couples the opportunity to share pregnancy on a more equal footing by way of mobile, artificial wombs, or pods. Alvy, a botanist and devoted purist about the natural environment, has doubts, but his love for Rachel prompts him to take a leap of faith. And so, begins the wild ride on their tech-paved path to parenthood.”
It just sounds too much and quite frankly we’re fighting against AI, not embracing it. See the clip below –
The Pod Generation stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rosalie Craig, Vinette Robinson, and Jean-Marc Barr and will hit theaters August 11th.
