Are you ready to go back to Virgin River? The first ten episodes of Season 5, aka Season 5, Part 1 premieres September 7th and to get us excited, Netflix has released a trailer that promises as much hope and light as it promises drama as a regular season of Virgin River usually brings. You know how it is with this show, there is a balance.
You will suffer. But there will be joy. Or something.
The trailer at least shows us some romantic moments (no more romantic drama, please!) as Mel and Jack prepare to welcome a baby that at this rate is coming in Season 9. Time sure goes by slowly in this town! Charmaine has been pregnant for what feels like 84 years at this rate.
It also teases a big fire, because, of course, we do need our dose of drama, and if it’s not coming from the romance, it needs to come from somewhere. But there are also some heartwarming moments that remind us of what made us fall in love with the show in the first place, and what keeps us coming back.
You can check it out below and then come speculate with us:
Season Five of Virgin River features surprising new relationships, a shocking break-up, a difficult court trial, a heartbreaking goodbye, and a wildfire that threatens the town, bringing some people of Virgin River together while tearing others apart. Issues of motherhood push Mel to make a big decision about her future at the clinic while her pregnancy unexpectedly sparks an emotional connection to her past. To further prove himself to Mel, Jack squares off with some long-overdue confrontations–with his own demons, and of course, Charmaine. And as Doc and Hope’s respective impairments throw their identities into question, the doctor and the mayor must find solace in their community, in their young new family, and in each other.
