Apple TV+ has released a trailer for The Buccaneers, a new series coming next month and we just have one thing to say: is this the women-focused period drama we’d been waiting for or what? Approach with caution and all, because far be it for us to truly trust, but …but …
It looks fun! Light. Romantic. And yet, it feels like the show will not forge that women are not rivals first, they are typically friends first. We can root for all of them separately, and we can root for them to find their happily ever after, or their happy for now while rooting for them to remain in each other’s lives.
