Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Ana Clara Benevides. The Swiftie passed away, while waiting for Taylor Swifts show to begin in Rio de Janeiro on Friday evening. According to media, she fainted in the front row, while waiting for the show to begin.
It has been reported that Benevides passed from cardiac arrest, though some media also say that cause of death is unknown. We are not sure of how she passed and don’t want to spread incorrect information.
Swift posted on her Instagram story after the show to express her devastation over the news.
She stared the post by saying, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this.”
“There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.”
“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from the stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply, and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
The concert was taking place in extreme heat, and the venue did not allow fans to take water into the show. At one point, Swift asked to get the fans water and even tossed fans water during the show.
We’re hoping that the venue allows fans to take in water during the last two shows that Swift is playing in Rio. The sweltering heat is too much.
