We are very much into reading autobiographies these days. We love to learn about people, their lives, and the stories behind the headlines. We feel like so many times now a days, the reality of what people go through is definitely not what the world reports.
The other thing that we do find very interesting is that when we’re reading autobiographies, we’re getting the emotions that have to do with the moments. Emotions are absolutely of the utmost importance, because they definitely define a moment.
If there is a book that we would like to read it would be all about Lisa Marie Presley. She lived this big life – one that kept the world captivated and unfortunately kept them butting in her business at every turn. Luckily for all of us a book is coming.
Her long in the works memoir is set to be published by Random House in collaboration with Presley’s actor-daughter Riley Keough. The memoir doesn’t have a title as of yet, but is described as, “raw, riveting, one-of-a-kind memoir [that] will lift the veil on one of America’s most storied families.”
The deal was announced today by Sanyu Dillon, President of the Random House Group, who said, “We are so honored to publish Lisa Marie’s memoir with Riley’s thoughtful collaboration. Lisa Marie led a truly singular life, and we know this book, brought to publication with the guidance of her daughter, will be a beautiful legacy not only for her children but for the generations of people who have loved her.”
Random House said that prior to Lisa Marie’s passing, Presley had asked Keough to help with her memoir. There is no one better to assist with the finishing the memoir than Keough. Keough listened to hours and hours of tapes that her Mom had made about the book.
“She listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs at Graceland, just the two of them, a sanctuary from the chaos of her life,” Random House said in the release.
The book will also talk about Lisa Marie’s tumultuous relationship with her Mom, her marriages, and the passing of her son Benjamin from suicide.
“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom really was, other than being Elvis’s daughter. I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one. I’m so excited to share my mom now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mom as much as I did.” Riley said in a statement about the book.
The still untitled book will be released on October 15th. Preorder it now at LisaMarieBook.com.
