One thing that we love is when people express themselves. Sometimes, sure, we want some one to say what we want to hear versus what they want to say. However, this is life and and that’s not the way that the cookie crumbles.
God, the oldness in me is showing right there, but f*ck it.
The whole point is that Jane Fonda says what is on her mind and she gives no f*cks. We kinda love it. She has some concerns about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, and she expressed them.
Via Variety, when Jennifer reached out to Jane to do a cameo in her movie, This Is Me Now: A Love Story, Jane voiced some concerns. She said, “I believe that everyone in the entire world is pulling for this relationship and this love. And the idea of how you present that is so sacrosanct, so important. It should be handled in a way that you aren’t overly flaunting it, so much so that it creates any form of criticism or resentment.”
This sentiment was voiced to Lopez via her manager. But then Jane expressed concern in the documentary to Lopez.
“I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work,” Fonda said in the documentary, “However, this is my concern. Like, it feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it. You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging.”
Lopez assured her that it was just the two of them living their life.
Fonda continued, “I got real scared, you know, with all that s-it about the Grammys and he looks unhappy and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, what’s happening.'”
Jennifer reassured Fonda, “Nothing! He was like, ‘I’ve become the symbol of the beleaguered man.’”
We have to admit that Fonda seems to get us. She really truly speaks for a majority of us – we have the same concerns.
