Hollywood hasn’t learned that some movies don’t need sequels or reboots or any more parts to the story. We’ve seen some of the Karate Kid movies and well, we refuse to acknowledge that some of these things have ever been made. We don’t want to revisit the Jaden Smith version of the Karate Kid.
But Hollywood also knows that some of us can be easily be enticed by nostalgia and part the newest Karate Kid movie is set to give us some nostalgia with Joshua Jackson. The actor has been added to the cast of a movie that should never be made.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Jackson joined the film. He’s joining stars Ralph Macchio (the only person that should ever be called Karate Kid) and Jackie Chan. There is also Ben Chang, who led American Born Chinese on Disney+, will lead the film.
We have no idea what role that Joshua Jackson will play, but it’s apparently a leading role. So that we can get down with. But what his role is, we have no idea.
Speaking of knowing nothing, we have no idea what the new movie will be about, anything has to be better than the other reboots of the franchise. Well, unless we’re talking Cobra Kai. Cause that wasn’t bad.
So yes, the entire point of this was to say we know nothing but four people in the cast. You’re welcome.
