One thing that we’re definitely loving these days is that Lucy Hale seems to be in a lot of movies. We love watching one of our favorite actresses blow us away with all of the roles that she takes on.
With Cannes going on we’re getting a lot of news about Lucy’s latest roles and she’s taking on two.
The actress is set to star in a remake of the 2021 South African drama Good Life. While we admit that we’ve not heard of it, but we need to pay attention, because it sounds very interesting. The drama is about, “Olive, a young woman grappling with heartache who feels trapped in her New York life and flees to Italy. Without a place to stay she sleeps in the ruins of her late father’s house, only to encounter hostility from the locals. When she meets a seven-year-old refugee, however, the youngster helps Olive turn her life around.”
And then there is My One and Only, a psychological thriller from writer-director Wayne Kramer. It’s been a hot property at Cannes. It centers around, ” Molly (Hale), a recently widowed young woman, suicidal with grief, who is abducted by a man intent on reinventing her as his dead wife — unleashing in Molly a fierce will to live.”
“Lucy Hale is one of the most gifted actors of her generation, and I’m excited to work with her on this unconventional and terrifying psychological thriller,” Kramer said in a statement, in regards to My One and Only. “Audiences are going to see a new side to her with this performance. I can’t wait to bring it to the screen.”
One sounds exciting and one sounds like it will scare the crap out of us. We’re all in.
