House of the Dragon 2×01 “A Son for a Son” returns to Westeros for the long-awaited return of the prequel to Game of Thrones, and the show wastes no time throwing us right back into the family intrigue of the Targaryens and forcing us, once and for all, to choose a side. Though at this point, everyone has probably already chosen.
Whether you follow Queen Rhaenyra or bend your knee to King Aegon II, the journey towards that future we know is coming, the one Game of Thrones already showed us, starts this weekend. The first big blow of the Dance of the Dragons has already been dealt. Lucerys Targaryen is dead. The rest still has to play out on our screens.
