When it comes to reality television, we know that casting changes are always going to happen. We think that we can all see that if the drama isn’t there, someone is gone. BUT, when it comes down to it, we can’t say that is something we always agree with.
Sometimes a person doesn’t bring a ton of drama, but what they do bring is a lot of heart to a show.
Olivia Flowers brought a lot of heart to Southern Charm. She also brought a lot of truth. So yes, we’re not thrilled that the reality television star will not be on this season of the hit Bravo show.
While rumors had been swirling about her not being on the show, she officially confirmed her departure during the July 12 episode of Scheana Shay‘s Scheananigans podcast.
“I’m not on this new season. So I have a lot more free time,” Olivia said.
Now we have to wonder was it her choice? She has been spending a lot of time in Texas, but honestly, we get why. Her parents live there and when it’s her own personal time, why not. Then there is the fact that her boyfriend is in Texas. Yet, if she’s not on the show because of that, all of it is ridiculous.
And no surprise, it is ridiculous.
She went on to tell Scheana, “I was super bummed. I got the call like, a few weeks before filming. The production company was just like, ‘You don’t really seem to be in Charleston that much. We’re noticing on your Instagram you’re in Texas, you’ve got this new boyfriend, and it just seems like you’re choosing a different path.”
We agreed completely with Olivia when she commented that she didn’t think it was a different path, but it was, “just kinda living my life.”
“My parents had just moved to Texas, and the boyfriend thing just happened very randomly. I’m really glad. He was the best part that came out of that year. But had I known it was working against me or making people think I was choosing a different path? I wish there had been more communication there.”
