CBS Sports is all about the good news for football fans in the United States this week. Following the newly inked deal with the English Football League (EFL), CBS Sports and Lega Serie A, Italy’s premier professional football league, have announced a new multi-platform, two-year agreement approved at the Serie A Assembly on Friday, July 19.
This renewal means that CBS Sports remains the exclusive U.S. English-language rights holder of every Serie A Championship, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana match. This partnership, which emphasizes Serie A’s prioritization of investment in the league’s future growth in North America, began during the 2021-22 season.
Paramount+ will stream over 400 club matches live each season, featuring all 380 Serie A matches, at least 25 Copa Italia matches, and all Supercoppa Italian matches. Like the EFL deal, this renewed agreement marks the broadest distribution of Serie A in the United States, with the most matches airing on broadcast television ever throughout the agreement.
Alongside the streamer, games will also air on CBS Television Network, and select ones will air on CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo Network.

The league already has ties to North America, with nine of 20 teams having a North American ownership take and some of North America’s biggest and best soccer talents playing in the league. Those athletes include USMNT stars Christian Pulisic, who will be the subject of a docuseries on Paramount+, Yunus Musah, Timothy Weah, Weston McKennie, and Canada’s Tajon Buchanan. Even more North American talent will join the ranks of Serie A in the 2024-25 season with the newly promoted teams, Venezia and Como.
Of course, Serie A also includes storied clubs, including Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, AS Roma, Napoli, and Lazio.
Announcements about live match and studio coverage details for the beginning of the 2024-25 season will be shared in the coming weeks.
The renewal of this agreement adds to CBS Sports’ portfolio that already features matches from Serie A; the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Youth League; NWSL; the United Soccer League; English Football League competitions including the Carabao Cup; Concacaf national team competitions; Argentina’s Liga Profesional de Fútbol; the Scottish Professional Football League; AFC Champions League and more.
