Lately, we’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about shows that we love or have loved. There have been some that have lasted past their prime date and some that have ended too soon.
One that definitely went too soon was Smash. Coming from this writer, who has never really liked a musical, that’s a big statement, but one that I stand by. The show had so much love, depth, drama, and great music.
If you’ve never seen Smash, you are definitely missing out. The show, which is now becoming a Broadway show, is about Broadway. It starred Debra Messing, Jeremy Jordan, Katharine McPhee, and Megan Hilty. There wasn’t an episode that passed in the shows short lived run, that you didn’t find yourself emotionally invested.
In addition to the four mentioned Debra Messing, Jeremy Jordan, Katharine McPhee, and Megan Hilty, Smash also starred Christian Borle, Jaime Cepero, Will Chase, Jack Davenport, Jennifer Hudson, Anjelica Huston, Raza Jaffrey, Brian d’Arcy James, Andy Mientus, Leslie Odom Jr., Krysta Rodriguez and Uma Thurman.
