One of the first superhero movies I ever watched was The Green Lantern. After that, I was like emmm… maybe not for me. Look, I love Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, but that movie was straight up horrible.
Apparently though, I shouldn’t have let that be the barometer for superhero movies, because Ryan Reynolds apparently doesn’t really like it either. And hey, gonna be honest here – if a celebrity says or implies that they don’t like a movie that they made, somehow that makes me feel better about shading it.
Especially when they shade it first.
“I would actually, genuinely, rather watch just a f**king 24-hour marathon of Paw Patrol,” the actor said in an interview with Vanity Fair.
But he did watch it during the pandemic. I am never going to be sure what would possess someone to watch it, but guessing if you are in the movie, it makes sense to watch it? Not sure the logic, but if you are drunk or completely out of it, maybe?
“During that time I’d finished Netflix, finished HBO Max, finished every streaming platform that exists. I had watched all the f**king Bob Ross specials in backwards, even, by the way, which is a shot-for-shot remake of The Exorcist, and time to watch The Green Lantern, yeah,” he said.
And then added, “I will say, a little drunk.”
Well, though we won’t be watching The Green Lantern anytime soon, we’re gonna respect that a pandemic can make a person do strange things.
