Our favorite Pogues are back in a new preview for Outer Banks season 4! In a preview video dropped by the YouTube channel Still Watching Netflix, the Pogues were filming a commercial that was clearly made with a shaky camera, a wish, and a dream.
Loving named the Kildare Island Surf Shop, this new venture for the Pogues was teased in the season 3 finale. It was during John B’s exposition dump to catch us up after 18 months had passed from the El Dorado adventure. He told Sarah, “Kie’s saving turtles, Pope’s going away to school, and JJ bought the charter boat. And we’ve got a killer surf shop.”
The commercial starts with John B being directed by Pope to look into the camera lens and not him. After an awkward introduction, the rest of the Pogues pop up. JJ is seen advertising TV shirts, Sarah some boots, and John B has a bucket hat. There’s even a live bait bit, kayak rentals, nets, and boat tours with JJ. And it’s all delightfully stilted AF because our Pogues are just awkward teens.
The bet bits of the commercial are definitely Kiara and her assertion that her designs are based on your aura, sign, or chakra. And she’s terrible at it. The predictions, I mean. Not the designs. And then there’s Cleo, who threatens any Kooks that try to visit the Kildare County Surf Shop with a knife in hand. She’s clearly still the moment.
What This Says About Season 4
All of this teases a lot about the life our Pogues are living. Because our babies aren’t just running from one danger to another. For the first time in seasons their biggest problems are inventory, reading auras, and making sure they have live bait. They have a home base and are still a family. There is a little worry about JJ though. He’s seen sulking to the side or hiding off to the back. And we don’t like the thought of him being separated from his family, intentionally or not.
This also makes us concerned for what’s to come for Outer Banks season 4. Because at the end of season 3, some old dude in a suit teased a new adventure on the horizon: Blackbeard’s treasure. And where there is danger there is running, injuries, and our Pogues being separated. We don’t want that. Instead, give us a season 4 of the Pogues running this surf shop where nothing hurts and everyone is given a warm meal and a bed at the end of the day.
