Superman & Lois is changing nights! The last show in the Arrowverse, originally set to return on Thursdays, will now air on Mondays. The first episode of the season is set for October 7th, according to TVLine.
The show returns for its fourth and final season with severe budget cuts and a reduced cast of series regulars, that only includes Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent and Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor. Other familiar faces, however, are still expected to appear.
Before the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, the CW released a trailer that teased the death of Superman. And not that we ever believed he was dead, but then Tyler Hoechlin showed up at the panel, and that was that. Again, it’s not that anyone was actually surprised. It’s really hard to have a show called Superman & Lois without, you know, Superman. Especially for a full season. Not to mention the final season of the show.
The trailer, however, tries. It tries really, really hard. It has to. This is, after all, the end, not just of the show but of a shared universe. One we loved and hated in equal measure, but one that without a doubt made us feel things. They have to go out with a bang.
We see a heartbroken Lois. A jubilant Lex Luthor. Jonathan and Jordan barely holding it together. And we do not see Clark or Superman and all. And though we now know not to trust it, you can still appreciate the attempt and the acting as you count down the days.
