Some actors are just endearing and charismatic, no matter their role. Brennan Elliott and Lacey Chabert are two of those actors. When you put them together in the same movie, what you’re getting is something that you probably will watch and smile the whole way through.
The two star in His & Hers, The Hallmark Channel’s first Fall Into Love movie of the 2024 season. Two lawyers – married – who are ridiculously in love. And I am talking that good kind of love – that can’t eat, can’t sleep kind of love. They are so in sync that you want to study them and figure out how you can find that kind of love.
The two are at different firms, and it works. One works in corporate law and one works in family law. They celebrate their anniversary for as many days as the years they’ve been married. It’s their seventh wedding anniversary, and they’ve planned seven days of celebrating.
Did I mention that they are ridiculously happy?

The two of them are both assigned a new case. That new case is going to pit them against each other. The case? Handling the divorce of a reality star couple.
Mark (Elliott) and Dana (Chabert) are determined that they will be able to make this work. They believe that they will be able to get the couple to settle and they’ll be able to move forward as if nothing ever happened.
But, the couple will not settle. They don’t care what has to happen, they do not want the other one to get anything.
While I know that we’re supposed to be paying attention to the reality couple — The Nobles — storyline, if we’re being honest I wasn’t. I was bored by it, but that’s a personal thing. I do not always mind predictability, but when it came here, you could tell it was a fake divorce for the publicity. I would have been more interested if I had thought they were really going through with a divorce.
The thing is, I felt like there would have been more drama. The drama between the Nobles just felt meh. Do I know what I was looking for? Not at all. I also think that I was so distracted by the characters of Mark and Dana — and that’s a good thing.
I found myself interested in how Mark and Dana were being tested by the circumstances. The two wanted nothing more than to be honest with each other but had to keep some things from each other because they were lawyers. That whole lawyer/client privilege thing.

The drama was subtle, but it was there. Mark and Dana are these two characters that make you think that love is a possibility.
The two are discussing what they want out of life and if it’s time for children – all while working the case. There are reasons for it and against it. There is always a fear about having children, but they aren’t afraid to talk about the pros and cons. I admired the fact the movie wasn’t afraid to show that it’s healthy to have a conversation and it’s that conversation that can change things for you. Talking things out is important.
The Nobles manage to talk things out – making it a big production in court. So much so that they can sell their latest idea for a show – couples counseling. I kid you not, I fell off the couch laughing at that one. I laughed even harder when the assistant that they made the villain of their story was able to make their way onto the show and out them for their secrets.
His & Hers was a mix of laughter and love. The movie struggles to find a departure from the Hallmark mold. Had it not been for its stars, I don’t think that I would have liked it as much as I did. However, because of the way that Elliott and Chabert can command a movie, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
It gave me moments to love.

What I loved about this movie was the fact that it stars two actors who have so much on-screen chemistry that it doesn’t matter what they are in, you will watch it. Brennan Elliott and Lacey Chabert have a special chemistry – a chemistry that you can’t always find. Their comfortableness with each other enables them to play off each other in a way that not all actors can. Their timing and the way that they are able to work off each other is impeccable and something that a lot of actors can learn from.
His & Hers is all of the goodness of Hallmark. It made me laugh and I appreciated the comedy of it all.
I will take all of the Brennan Elliott and Lacey Chabert movies please and thank you.
