With Outer Banks season 4 almost here, we’ve got a laundry list of things we want for our favorite Pogues. Over 3 seasons they’ve lost family, added to their friend group, and faced adventures that feel very National Treasure-coded. Now we see the aftermath of the losses of season 3 and the gold that’s made their way into their lives. The Pogues have opened up a surf shop, started following their dreams, and are generally living it up. But all of that quickly crumbles around them, thrusting them into a new adventure. So before the Netflix series returns, here’s our very own wishlist of what we want to see happen to the gang in season 4!
1. A home for the Pogues
This might be the simplest thing I want for the Pogues, but the most important. I want JJ, Kiara, Sarah, John B, Cleo, and Pope to have a home. In one of the teaser trailers for Outer Banks season 4 we saw a bit of their present. They have a shop, JJ’s got a boat, and they’re doing things with their lives. But you know they’re going to lose their security, forcing them on this next adventure. And I understand that they are each other’s home. That’s beautiful, really. I also want them to have a physical home where they can lay their head down and not fear the cold, hunger, or the things that go bump in the night. I want them to be safe. They deserve that after everything they have gone through and everything they will go through in season 4.

2. Solidifying Kiara and JJ’s romance
The last couple of seasons have seen the relationship between Kiara and JJ shift into something romantic. But even then, it’s been fraught with insecurities, miscommunications, and time apart. I don’t want that for Kiara and JJ in season 4. Instead, I want the soft moments where they have a cuddle and talk about their day and whether they need to go food shopping tomorrow. I want them to survive the honeymoon phase and face this world together as partners when it comes to their future, Kiara’s parents, and JJ’s very own crippling self worth problems. I want them to be partners in every sense of the world in season 4 of OBX.

3. Continuous storylines surrounding the women
As much as I love our boys from Outer Banks, there’s something truly special about Sarah, Kiara, and Cleo. They are completely different women, yet they ended up together, going on these crazy adventures and thriving together. And for season 4, I’d love to see these three young women bonding outside of the boys or the relationships they’re in. Maybe Cleo’s past comes around and Kiara and Sarah are the ones there supporting her through every step. Or Sarah wants to find her bliss or whatever she wants to do for the rest of her life and Kiara and Cleo are a sounding board. Or Kiara has a brilliant idea to take the bad guy down and Sarah and Cleo join her in getting the job done. These three need bonding time.

4. Competent adults
The Pogues need support. Because they have done unimaginable things in the name of the truth, family, and friendship. I know that a lot of what they went through would have been easier if they had competent parents or adults that stepped up or were just there. And I know that the Pogues can get better at asking, especially Mr. Heyward aka one of the most decent parents of the bunch. ButaAt the end of the day they’re kids. They need more competent adults to notice they need help but also actively listen. Because adults on teenage focused shows conveniently forget they were teens once.

5. The end of Rafe
Drew Starkey is a talented actor. I’ll say that first and foremost. Because his portrayal of Rafe fills me with such disgust, that I’m not sure if I can watch Starkey in his upcoming movie Queer. Rafe is a despicable human being that deserves everything that’s coming to him. And let’s not forget Topper here too. That little face in the picture below, you know he’s going to be just as much of a pain in season 4 of Outer Banks. Hopefully he stays away from Sarah. Girl, doesn’t need his drama.

OBX4 premieres Part 1 on October 10th and Part 2 on November 7th.
