AMC released a new trailer for Mayfair Witches Season 2, and we’re…cautiously optimistic. The first look, which made its debut at the 2024 New York Comic-Con, hits just the right creepy tone. But…we kinda have to admit that, after an initial “ok this part is good-weird, and that part is bad-weird, but we’ll give it a try” kind of reaction to the first part of Season 1, we couldn’t force ourselves to maintain our initial enthusiasm. With so many good shows out there to watch, and hardly enough time to race through them before some streamer decides to cancel one of our faves way too soon, we kinda had to give up at some point.
So, while the new footage looks promising, we just don’t know if we should trust it or not. If there are any other Anne Rice fangirls out there who want to convince us, one way or another, please do slide into the comments section with your recommendation. We’re always here for a conversation.
So, what can you expect from the new season? According to the synopsis from AMC:
“Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches, season two of Mayfair Witches continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston). She is determined to understand what he has become – human or monster? – and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she must put aside her own desires and fight to protect her family.”
Bonus: The showrunner promises the season will be “really really dark and demented.” (But, again, that could either be a good thing or a bad one, depending on how it’s actually done and exactly what kind of “demented” we’re aiming for here.)

The network also released some new images. You can check those out below.
So, what is everyone thinking? Are we in or out? We’re kind of digging the detail with Lasher’s bloody hand in the trailer and that look on Ciprien’s face in the promo pics, if nothing else.
If you’re continuing on this journey, Mayfair Witches Season 2 premieres on Sunday, January 5, on AMC and AMC+.
