Dating Outside the Comfort Zone in High Potential Season 1 Episode 5 ‘Croaked’

Following the events of High Potential Season 1 Episode 4, in High Potential Season 1 Episode 5 ‘Croaked’ Karadec and Morgan adjust to being partners — even though Karadec refuses to accept it, it’s what they are — and trusting each other. This time, Karadec goes on a date and Morgan keeps encouraging him to go ahead and get out of his comfort zone. And, while we would love to say that Morgan is a little jealous, the truth is that she is not. They are not there yet.
That being said, even though it may seem otherwise, we are taking steps in that direction. Morgan is the complete opposite of Karadec, there is no way that in his square way of being, he sees being with her as an option if he hasn’t first opened himself to the possibility of leaving his comfort zone. And Karadec going on dates means that he is opening to the possibilities of love…
So, Karadec going on dates with other people is a necessary step so that one day, those dates will be with Morgan. It’s just part of the process.
Breach of Trust…

As we speculated in High Potential Season 1 Episode 5 preview, in High Potential Season 1 Episode 5 ‘Croaked’ Morgan lets her overprotective instinct get the better of her and searches Ava’s things, defrauding her trust…and finding birth control pills among her things.
Let’s not beat around the bush, Morgan did wrong. She had no real reason to suspect Ava was in trouble, she’s just a teenager who needs her space and is trying to find her place in the world on her own, trying independence for the first time and acting accordingly. It’s a complicated stage but breaking your children’s trust is not the most advisable thing to do, it’s best to wait for them to trust you and come to you on their own.
However, what’s done is done and, once Morgan has those anti-baby pills in hand in High Potential season 1 Episode 5 ‘Croaked,’ the dilemma is if she should talk to Ava. We think that both Morgan and Ludo have a point here. On the one hand, those anti-baby pills are like a bomb and they are going to wreak havoc on Ava’s body, she should know that and be able to decide if that contraceptive system is the best at this time in her life.
On the other hand, talking to Ava would be acknowledging that Morgan broke her trust by going through her stuff, and if Ava loses trust in her, she will never go to Morgan with anything that happens to her, no matter how bad it is. Morgan can’t let that happen. In the end, as always, the solution is somewhere in the middle.
Morgan doesn’t hide her fault from Ava and sincerely apologizes, but she also follows what she feels is her duty as a mother and talks to her about it. This shows Ava that, even though her mother made a mistake, she was mature enough to recognize it and learn from it, which makes it easier to forgive the breach of trust. Also, Morgan talking to her makes Ava feel like her mother is treating her like an adult, something every teenager needs to feel. So everything works out in the end.
