We’re back! High Potential Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Hangover’ focuses entirely on the case of the week, which is disappointing because we know the show is capable of much more. Ready?
Here we go!
Lives Reflected

After everything that happened in High Potential Season 1 Episode 5, we expected High Potential Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Hangover’ to be even better. And the episode wasn’t bad, it was entertaining and kept us glued to the couch…but it didn’t emotionally develop the characters, which makes it very difficult to write a review.
So, despite everything that the High Potential Season 1 Episode 6 preview promised, the episode disappointed us. This show did something we thought was impossible: it started developing the characters’ emotional conflicts in episode 2. Since then, all the episodes followed this line, some focused more on the case and others less, but all of them dealt with and developed the characters’ emotional conflicts, allowing the viewer to get to know them and connect with them.
Until now.
High Potential Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Hangover’ was like a sudden stop to all this just when the show had already gained momentum and we don’t understand it. We consider an episode like this, where literally the only thing we can say is that we can’t say anything, unnecessary. If this had been about episode 2 or episode 3, nothing would have happened. But this is episode 6, the last one they air before a one-week break. So we expected much more than this. This show can do more than this.
We repeat, it’s not that the episode was bad, it’s just that it wasn’t as good as the show has accustomed us to and it’s inevitable that disappoints us. That said, what we can comment on is the fact that Morgan was determined to prove that the suspect wasn’t guilty, her instincts told her she wasn’t and we can’t help but wonder why.
Morgan sees herself in her. Morgan knows how it feels to have a boss who looks down on you — that’s why she values Selena so much — and to be underestimated. She knows how it feels to not have anyone recognize your true worth and intelligence. Morgan would have given anything to have someone who would make her understand that she was worth and deserved more than that. And Morgan does just that with this girl.

Other Stuff in High Potential Season 1 Episode 6 ‘Hangover’

- Tom and Morgan are cute, we have to admit. But we find it interesting that he’s also kind of a neat freak, something he has in common with Karadec. So we’re still on the right track here.
- We love that Karadec trusts Morgan so much and they joke around like that.
- That kind of competition to see who is right…
- Flirting, flirting everywhere.
- We love Morgan and Selena’s friendship. That scene between them was everything and we need more.
- Morgan went from not wanting to be part of the police under any circumstances to admitting that she loves what she does.
- We love seeing the whole gang together for the first time! More scenes like that, please, and thank you.
High Potential airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on ABC.
Ah do you know what lipstick the security guard was wearing!
What does she write with her greasy finger at the end? We’ve stopped the recording and still can’t read it.
